Cambridge / AICE

The AICE Testing Window for 2024-2025 is now available.  Please see Mrs.  Faasse with any questions

The Best of Both Worlds

Students who are admitted to the Cambridge program can still be involved in other interests. It is not uncommon to find Cambridge students who are also enrolled in one of our many academies. Many Cambridge students continue to pursue their outside interests including involvement in athletics, band, drama, art, and student government. You name it; you can do it all!

What is the difference between AICE, AP and IB

The main difference between AICE, AP, and IB, is the flexibility of the AICE Diploma. Students have the freedom to take courses that revolve around their strengths and interests.  AICE combines the best of both AP and IB in that students can select which advanced courses to take while still earning a diploma.

Another AICE advantage is the students’ ability to take AICE classes and exams at any stage in their high school career starting in ninth grade, whereas IB students are only allowed to take exams during their eleventh and twelfth-grade years, respectively. AICE students who take exams within three years are able to position themselves for an AICE diploma by the end of their junior year.

Having the AICE diploma on their resume when applying to colleges during the fall of their senior year will only help to differentiate them from other applicants, especially those who will not learn of their IB diploma status until the August after they graduate from high school when colleges have already chosen their freshmen applicants.
